Swimsuits Have Arrived

If you ordered a swimsuit on the fitting day, they have arrived! Parents – please look for Crystal at tonight’s practice (Thursday the 22nd) to pick up your swimsuit.  If you are not able to attend practice tonight, we will have them for you to pick up at the Intrasquad Meet as well as practices next week.

Show Your Team Spirit

If you have a past Pangborn Piranhas swim team t-shirt, we would like to encourage your swimmer to wear it to school TOMORROW, Friday, May 23rd to show their team spirit.

Intrasquad Meet – THIS SATURDAY, May 24th

This practice meet is for the swimmers to get an idea of what an actual swim meet will be like and for parents to learn the volunteer roles.

• Swimmers – Please declare your attendance by the end of the day TODAY, Thursday. To do this, click HERE to be directed to the Piranhas schedule, click on the green Meet Entry button to declare your swimmer’s attendance.
• Parents – We have 12 jobs that still need to be filled. This is just a practice/mock meet, so it is a low-pressure opportunity for you to give a new job a try. To sign up, click HERE to be directed to the Piranhas schedule, click on the green JOB SIGNUP button to select a job. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or issues.

First Swim Meet @ Nottaway – Next Tuesday, May 27th

Signup now for our first swim meet of the season next Tuesday, May 27th.

Since it is a school night for Dekalb County students, we have asked the meet host, Nottaway, to arrange the swim meet so all age 10 and under events are completed first. This will allow these young swimmers can get on to bed for school the next morning.

• Swimmers - Deadline to declare your swimmer's attendance is this Sunday evening, May 25th by 5:00pm. Follow the same steps as describe above for the Intrasquad Meet for how to declare attendance.
• Parents – Signup for the volunteer jobs ASAP. Follow the same steps as describe above for the Intrasquad Meet for how to sign up for the volunteer jobs.

This is an AWAY swim meet.  We will send out all the meet details regarding parking, arrival time, warmup time, start time, bullpen and spectator locations, concessions, etc. very soon.

Pre-Season Practice: NOTE the day-by-day practice times next week

• Memorial Day Morning Practice, Monday, May 26th
  • Yes! - There will be a morning practice
  • 9:00am-10:00am, 5-10 year olds
  • 10:00am-11:00am, 11-19 year olds

• No Practice on Tuesday, May 27th
  • This will be our first swim meet date. See more info above.

• Wednesday, May 28th, evening practice
  • 5:00pm-6:00pm, 5-10 year olds
  • 6:15pm-7:15pm, 11-19 year old

• No Practice on Thursday, May 29th
  • This is the last day of school and the Pool Grand Opening Night for Pangborn pool members.

Regular Season Practice:

• Friday, May 30th through Friday, June 20th, morning practice
  • Monday-Friday
  • 9:00am-10:00am, 5-10 year olds
  • 10:00am-11:00am, 11-19 year olds

• Note about Evening Practices:
  • Evening Practices are available for swimmers that attend summer camp or work.
  • Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (no evening practices on Tuesdays or Fridays) - June 2nd through June 19th
  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm (6:00-7:00pm if needed), 1-2 lanes depending on the number of swimmers.

Cashless Home Meets

You asked and we are delivering! Pangborn is now setup to take credit cards at our home swim meets and will no longer accept cash. For Pangborn pool members, please add money to your bait shack account for making purchases. For non-Pangborn pool members, we now accept credit cards, and you no longer need to bring cash with you to home meet.

Weather Notifications/Download Swimtopia App

When the weather conditions are such that we must cancel practice, we will send an email AND an alert notification as early as possible. To receive the alert notification, download the Swimtopia App and make sure notifications are turned on. Click HERE for instructions on how to use and how to download the app. Note that the app will also come in handy for swim meets because this is where you can easily see your swimmer’s events and their time.
