FIRST SWIM MEET: AWAY vs. Nottaway Newts

When: TODAY, Tuesday, May 27th
Where: Nottaway Swim Club 3153 Hathaway Court Atlanta, GA 30341 (see map below)
Time:
- Arrive at 4:45pm
- Warm-Ups: Pangborn 5:15pm – 5:45pm
- Meet Start Time: 6:00pm
- Check-In: We will have both a Swimmer and Volunteer Check-In. Please make sure you get checked in, so we know you are present.

Other Logisitics:
- What to Bring: Swimmers should wear their swimsuits and bring towels, goggles, and a swim cap, if they wear one. We have extra swim caps if your swimmer needs one.
- Parking: Please park in the adjacent Holy Cross Catholic Church parking lot or on one side of the street in the surrounding neighborhood (Hathaway Court, Rockaway Road, and Castaway Lane). Do not block driveways or park on corners. If you park in the Holy Cross Parking lot, please be kind and do not leave trash behind (it is Church Property). Better yet, just don’t be a litter bug and clean up after yourself no matter where you park. Do not park in the small Nottaway parking lot which is reserved for coaches, directors and officials.
- Spectator Seating: Space around the pool deck is limited. The lawn area, closer to the turn end of the pool, is reserved for Pangborn families. Please keep chairs on the grassed area and off the concrete deck. Bring your own chairs or towels is sit on.
- Bullpen: The bullpen area for Pangborn is TBD depending on the weather between now and the meet. It will either be in the grassy lawn or in their small parking lot.
- Concessions: You are welcome to bring your own food and drink. There will also be a concession stand with various meal (including chick fil a sandwiches), snack, and candy options. Cash and Venmo are accepted.
- Special Needs Swimmers – Please note that Nottaway has a couple of special needs swimmers. Let’s cheer them on as we should all the swimmers!
- Reminder – Summer swim league is meant to be fun! Be kind and respectful to the meet host, Nottaway, to all the athletes, volunteers, coaches, refs, and the Nottaway and Pangborn families. Let us be gracious guests.

Arm Markings

Still unsure of how to mark your swimmer's arm? Using Avery Robinson as an example, take a look at what her arm will look like at the swim meet.

Reading from left to right in the image below, the first number is the Event number, the second number (before the slash) is the Heat number, and the third number (after the slash) is the Lane number.

E = Event number

H = Heat number

L = Lane number

Swimsuits Have Arrived

We have a few more swimsuits that need to be picked up. Look for Crystal – she will bring them with her to the Nottaway meet.

Pasta Dinner Social (Potluck Style) - THIS Sunday, June 1st at 5:00pm

RSVP on SwimTopia (similar to how you sign up for meets and volunteer jobs)
Sign Up on SwimTopia to bring pasta, salad, bread, drinks, etc. Every family that RSVPs should sign up to bring something.

Second Swim Meet HOME vs. Intown Dolphins – Next Tuesday, June 3rd

Swimmers - Deadline to declare your swimmer's attendance is this Sunday evening, June1st by 5:00pm.
Parents – Signup for the volunteer jobs ASAP. We are the host so there are more jobs to fill than the away meets.

We will send out all the meet details regarding arrival time, warmup time, start time, bullpen and spectator locations, concessions, etc. closer to this swim meet.

Cashless Home Meets

You asked and we are delivering! Pangborn is now setup to take credit cards at our home swim meets and will no longer accept cash. For Pangborn pool members, please add money to your bait shack account (and remember your pin) to make purchases. For non-Pangborn pool members, we now accept credit cards, and you no longer need to bring cash with you to home meets. We will also have Venmo as a payment option.

Weather Notifications/Download Swimtopia App

When the weather conditions are such that we must cancel practice, we will send an email AND an alert notification as early as possible. To receive the alert notification, download the Swimtopia App and make sure notifications are turned on. Click here for instructions on how to use and how to download the app. Note that the app will also come in handy for swim meets because this is where you can easily see your swimmer’s events and their time.

Pre-Season Practice:

Wednesday, May 28th, evening practice
- 5:00pm-6:00pm, 5-10 year olds
- 6:15pm-7:15pm, 11-19 year old

No Practice on Thursday, May 29th
- This is the last day of school and the Pool Grand Opening Night for Pangborn pool members

Regular Season Practice:

Friday, May 30th through Friday, June 20th, morning practice
- Monday-Friday
- 9:00am-10:00am, 5-10 year olds
- 10:00am-11:00am, 11-19 year olds

Note about Evening Practices:
- Evening Practices are available for swimmers that attend summer camp or work.
- Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (no evening practices on Tuesdays or Fridays) - June 2nd through June 19th
- 5:00pm - 6:00pm (6:00-7:00pm if needed), 1-2 lanes depending on the number of swimmers.
